Our journey from a small, family-owned business to a leading provider of electrical solutions has been fueled by our commitment to excellence, innovation, and community. This year, we are excited to announce a new chapter in our story: Instel Power Products is honored to be a Founding Family of the Kim S. Miller Family Enterprise Institute of South Carolina (FEISC) at Anderson University.
Family enterprises hold a unique and vital place in South Carolina’s economy. Some of the state’s oldest and most successful businesses are family-owned, demonstrating the enduring value of these enterprises. Recognizing the critical role family businesses play, the Kim S. Miller Family Enterprise Institute of South Carolina (FEISC) is dedicated to helping these enterprises thrive.
The mission of the FEISC is to provide education, networking, support resources, and research to maximize the health and sustainability of family enterprises. Founded in 2021, the Institute fosters an environment where learning, sharing, and creative solutions can address the critical issues facing family businesses. The abide by the following principles:
- Member Responsive. Members are our reason for existing and our most important stakeholders. Their active engagement and participation at all levels of the Institute, including leadership, is critical to carrying out our mission.
- Open Learning Environment. Learning is fostered by trust. The Institute is committed to delivering a confidential, non-competitive environment that allows members a secure arena in which to learn and grow as families and enterprise leaders.
- Healthy Family Connections. The Institute encourages and promotes healthy family processes, including open communication and focused thoughtful planning, with respect for individuality.
- Collaborative Community Partner. We are committed to supporting and being a strong contributor in the state-wide economic and community development.
- Mutual Beneficiality. We will utilize the Anderson University platform and partner affiliate connections to provide opportunities for all stakeholders including student academic experiences and faculty development. As ambassadors for each other we will leverage resources to benefit the South Carolina family enterprise community.
Becoming a Founding Family means more than just supporting an organization—it means being part of a community. Our co-owner, William Jackson, will serve as the chairman of the advisory council 2024-2025. We are honored to be a part of this initiative and to contribute to the ongoing success of family enterprises in South Carolina.
